- What is Lovegam.com?
We are an online dating and social networking site for the benefit of all gay men around the world, with a strong emphasis on the interests of Gay Asian Men (GAM). We offer opportunities for gay men to meet for love, friendship or business networking. Members have access to interviews of prominent gay related Asian movers and shakers in the entertainment, legal, and political industries that will be of special interest to GAM and other gay men.
- How is Lovegam.com different from other online dating or social networking sites?
We are one of the very few gay Asian focus sites in the world. Many of our members come to us to find true love, friendships, and empowerment in a safe and vibrant gay Asian online community.
- Who are the members of Lovegam.com?
Our members come from all walks of life with varying jobs, interests, and ethnicities. Our common interest is to connect with other gay Asian or Asian-friendly men.
- Is Lovegam.com another one of those hook up sites?
Unlike many other dating or social networking sites, we value love and friendships among gay men. We manually screen and approve every profile to ensure a clean, friendly, and safe online experience to our members.
Registration & approval:
- How do I get my profile approved?
After your initial registration, you must click on the auto link in your personal email to confirm your registration, and update your profile. We will not approve profiles with little or no information. Complete the required fields that have a red asterisk next to them; otherwise your info will NOT be saved.
- How long does it take for my profile to be approved?
The normal time to approve most profiles take 24 hours, but it can take up to 48 hours as we manually screen all profiles to ensure they comply with our Terms Of Use. The sooner that you update your profile with the minimum required info, the sooner it will be approved.
- Can I instantly contact other members without the need to have my profile approved?
Yes. To bypass our manual approval process, you can choose to upgrade your membership from Standard to Premium by paying with your credit card during the initial registration phase.
- Do I need to confirm my registration as a new member?
Yes. This is to prevent bots to join our site or folks who would like to register for the sake to register. Remember, our members join our site for their long term needs, not for their short term fixes.
- Why was my registration denied?
Either you failed to confirm your registration or your profile contains info that violates our Terms Of Use. As a courtesy, all new members will be sent a welcome email with the specific information needed, if any, to complete the approval process.
- Can I register as a new member just to see who is online?
Yes, only if you register with a valid card credit card since your profile does not need to be manually approved. However, please note that other members have invested their time to complete their profile for you, so why not do the same for them?
- Can an organization or company register as a member?
No. Our site is for personal and not for commercial use. You can send an email to Webmaster@lovegam.com if you would like our members to learn about your organization or company.
Membership levels, features, & costs:
- Some online dating sites are free, so why should I need to pay to become a member?
Our site is free too, but if you want to get all access to our site, there is a small cost to contact our members. You pay for what you get. Most of our members join to find true love and friendships; not just to find quick hook ups.
- What are the Standard and Premium features?

- What is the price of Premium membership?
The current cost is $30/3 months.
- Isn’t $30 for 3 months expensive to find dates or friendships?
Depending on where you live, it can be quite expensive to go to bars/clubs. The average cost in the U.S. for a typical gay night out is $40 ($10 door entrance, $20 drinks, $10 cab ride). Compared to only one gay night out, we offer 90 days for only $30 to meet our members!
- Is Standard membership free?
Yes, but with limited access.
- Is there a free trial period for Premium membership?
Yes. Currently, we provide a free 90 day trial for Premium membership. Share this with your friends!
- How do I upgrade my membership from Standard to Premium?
Log in, go to My Account page, and click on the Upgrade Your Membership button. Make sure to use a valid credit card to complete the upgrade process.
- How do I downgrade my membership from Premium to Standard?
Remember, when you choose to downgrade to Standard membership, you will have limited access to all features.
- What credit cards are accepted to upgrade my membership?
Visa and Mastercard. We are currently exploring other online payment options.
- Do I have to manually renew my Premium membership every 3 months?
No. Our system will automatically renew it for you through our convenient recurring billing. Just make sure to keep your credit card information current.
- What are the special promotions given to members?

- How often does Lovegam.com release new features?
We are constantly striving to make your online experience better. If our loyal members want them, we will strive to provide them.
- What is BETA?
Lovegam.com is currently in beta, which means that our site is still in testing, and a bit unfinished, but still usable. Once we are able to work out the kinks and identify bugs, we will then promote our site to the general public. During the beta period, only a selected group of users are able to enjoy our services before they're available to the general public. We hope these users take advantage of this early opportunity to positively shape our online services.
Edit profile:
- How do I edit or update my profile?
Click on My Profile, then Edit Profile. Complete the required fields that have a red asterisk next to them; otherwise your info will NOT be saved. If you do not want to be restricted to these options, simply select Tell You Later, No Preference or Doesn’t Matter.
- Do I have to answer every question to have my profile approved?
No, only the fields that have a red asterisk next to them. We do not want folks to sign up for the sake of signing up, so we require members to put at least some substance in their profile before they can contact other members.
- How can I get other members to notice my profile?
As a rule of thumb in the online dating world, it is best to post your best picture (s) with a completed profile. The more you put in your profile, the more hits you will get. You can also upload a video to your profile; that will surely get a lot of attention!
- Can I have more than one profile?
No.
- Can I provide outside links or email addresses of any kind in my profile?
No. We respect our member’s privacy. You can exchange personal emails once you make contact with other members. We reserve the right to edit or delete your profile if we feel you have violated our Terms Of Use.
- How do I change my password?
Logged in, click on Change Password in the My Account page to enter your new password. Click on the Save Changes button, and store it in a secured place.
- How can I retrieve my Username and Password?
From the homepage, click on the “Forgot Password?” link. You will then be prompted to fill in your email address, and then click on the Retrieve My Information button. An auto-email will be sent to your personal email with a new TEMPORARY password. Go back to the homepage, and log in with your new temporary password. Once you have successfully logged in, you can change your password.

- How do I update my credit card information?

- Can other members see my birthdate?
No, but your age will be shown when other members view your profile.
Upload pictures:
- Can I still contact other members without a primary picture in my profile?
Yes, but you will get more hits if you post a picture in your profile.
- How do I upload pictures to my profile?
Click on My Profile and then on Profile Photos.
- I uploaded my picture(s) to my profile, but it is not showing.
There are two place to upload your pictures:
To upload a picture to your profile, click on My Profile and then on Profile Photos. If no picture is uploaded to your profile, a question mark will appear as your default primary picture.
The other place is Picture Gallery, which is separate from your profile.
- Must all profiles and pictures manually approved before I can contact other members?
Yes. This is to ensure a clean and vibrant online community to our members. However, if you upgrade your membership right away from Standard to Premium by paying with your credit card, you can bypass the picture and profile approval process, and contact other members immediately.
- Should my primary picture be of me?
Yes. We manually screen and approve all pictures and profiles to ensure we have a vibrant online community to our members. Your primary picture must be a true representation of yourself. You can certainly post other images as your non-primary pictures.
- Can I upload nude pictures?
No. We would like to maintain a clean online environment to our members. Per our Terms Of Use, we do not allow images that are adult in nature or sexually suggestive. Please respect our Terms Of Use and the integrity of our site.
- Can I upload shirtless pictures?
Of course! Anything above the waist is fine.
- Why are some of my uploaded pictures deleted without my permission?
Because they have violated our Terms Of Use.
Upload videos:
- What is a video profile?
A video profile is a unique feature of Lovegam.com. It is uniquely displayed into your profile to showcase your handsome appearance, bubbly personality, and overall presentation. It’s all about you, so show other members who you really are!
- What is the maximum file size of the video profile?
100 MB.
- Can I upload more than one video profile?
Yes, but only one can be your video profile. The rest can be stored in Video Gallery.
- What is the difference between uploading my video profile and uploading videos in the Video Gallery?
A video uploaded to your profile is displayed into your profile. When other members view your profile, your video profile will be played automatically. Only one video can be used as your video profile. Other uploaded videos will be stored in the Video Gallery.
Contact members:
- How do I send messages to other members?
Log in, and when viewing a member’s profile, click on the Send Message button underneath his primary picture.
- What are auto-generated emails sent to my personal email address?
They are emails sent automatically from our email system, such as notifications of new messages from other members or email confirmations from the registration process. DO NOT reply to them because they are system generated, and not from members.
- Do I have to log in to reply to messages sent from other members?
Yes, because you cannot reply directly to auto-generated emails.
- Can I send an external message from Lovegam.com?
No. Our message system is for internal communication only between members. For example, you cannot send messages to a Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail email account.
- How can I prevent emails sent from Lovegam.com to my spam folder in my personal email?
Each email provider such as Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail has its own way to filter spam emails, so adjust the filter setting to allow messages sent from Lovegam.com.
- Can I send a message to many members all at once?
No. This would be considered spamming, and your account will be automatically deleted. Please notify us immediately should you suspect any members of spamming.
- Can other members see my personal email address?
No. Personal email addresses are private information. It is up to you to disclose them to other members.
- How do I use the IM Chat feature?

- Why haven’t some members responded to my sent instant messages?
Work in progress.
- What is the purpose of the My Connections button?
This feature keeps track of all your communication with other members so you would remember who you have connected with. For example, you do not want to be sending winks to the same member twice within the same week.
- How can I find out if other members have viewed my profile?
Log in, click on My Connections, then Views.
- Can I block a member from contacting me?
Yes. Click on the member’s profile, and then the Block Profile button.
- How can I search other members who have similar interests and hobbies?
We will release our Advanced Search feature soon, so stay tuned.
- Is the Message Board monitored?
Yes. Once BETA is lifted, we will designate certain members to be Moderators of the Message Board.
Cancellation & suspension:
- How do I cancel my account?
Log in, go to My Account page, click on Cancel Membership under My Membership.
If you are a Standard member, your account will be PERMANENTLY REMOVE from our system, and cannot be retrieved, so be sure you are 100% sure you would like to cancel your account. If you are unsure, you can choose to suspend your account to make it temporarily unavailable.
If you are a Premium member, cancelling your account will downgrade your membership from Premium to Standard. You will have limited access to all features.
- How can I suspend my account?
When logged in, go to My Account page, click on the Suspend link under My Membership. Please note that other members would not be able to search for your profile or communicate with you during the suspended period.
- How can I stop my credit card from being charged immediately?
Logged in, go to My Account page, click on Cancel Membership under My Membership, then you must provide a brief reason (s) to stop payment, and finally click on the Submit button. Upon review, we will send you a confirmation of stopped payment.
- Can I freeze my Premium membership?
No, but you can temporarily suspend your membership.
- Can my account be deleted without my permission?
Yes, if it violates our Terms Of Use.
